Let's introduce how we make snake resin models!
1. Data Collection Stage
In this stage, we need to collect a large number of images and video materials related to the snake species we are going to create, then sort and summarize them. Every snake species has its unique physical characteristics, including body shape, scale morphology, scale count, scale arrangement, head features, pattern and so on. We conduct a detailed, species-specific research for each type of snake.
2. Computer 3D Modeling Stage
In this stage, we build the 3D model in strict accordance with the characteristics summarized in the previous step, and faithfully reproduce the unique traits of the target snake species. This is the most time-consuming process of all stages. We need to design an elegant posture for each snake and texture it with a full set of scales. Each snake model has approximately 3,000 to 20,000 scales, and the morphology, size and arrangement of the scales vary to a certain extent across different parts of the snake's body. For example, the costal scales (the area adjacent to the ventral scales) are usually different in shape and much larger than the majority of scales on the body. Another example: when the snake's body bends, the scales on the outer curve separate slightly, revealing the skin between them, while the scales on the inner curve overlap and press against each other.
3. 3D Printing Stage
Using high-precision 3D printing technology, we turn the finished 3D digital model into a physical prototype.
4. Mold Making Stage
We use the 3D-printed prototype as a master model to develop production molds that meet mass manufacturing standards, laying a solid foundation for subsequent mass production.
5. Resin Casting Stage
We pour our PU resin raw material into the mass production molds. Once the resin cures and forms, we demold the product, resulting in a highly detailed PU resin snake model blank.
6. Model Sanding and Refinishing
Freshly cast models have sprue marks and mold lines. Our model craftsmen cut off these unwanted parts and sand and polish the surface, creating exquisite, smooth unpainted blanks ready for coloring.
7. Hand Painting Stage
This is a crucial production stage that puts the professional skills of our painters and strict quality control to the test. All our painters have at least 5 years of professional fine art painting experience. They strive to perfectly reproduce the unique patterns and colors of each snake species, and every brushstroke embodies the ultimate craftsmanship spirit.
And that’s how our exquisite snake resin models are made. Leveraging years of industry experience, we ensure the supreme quality of our products across all production stages. Meanwhile, we keep investing in R&D and constantly strive to bring you snake models that deliver an even more exceptional experience.
